During this 8 hour class you will learn 3 of Wild Game Chef’s recipes, developed for MeatEater’s recipe content, while learning new skills and ways of preparing wild game.


Rick Matney of Wild Game Chef has been an avid hunter and angler for nearly all his life, and has honed in on age-old methods of harvesting and preserving and new modern ways of preparing meals. Rick wants to involve hunters in harvest and prep from start to finish. At Wild Game Chef, the goal is to show hunters how to utilize as much of the animal as possible while also teaching ways to use the animal as food that the whole family will love.


At the end of the class, we will sit down to a family-style dinner with the delicious food prepared, paired with local beer on tap from The Pump House. Have a friend or partner come and join the fun!

Cooking Class

When you book your spot in this class, you will vote in three categories on which recipes you would like the class to include. Wild Game Chef will teach one appetizer, one easy to make weeknight dinner, and one longer prep recipe great for special occasions.
